Diminished Value, A brief overview

As a customer of Duncan's Collision, we want you to suffer as little diminished value as possible. With our expert technicians, certified to restore your vehicle back to pre-loss condition in a high quality, professional manner, we know you will be glad you chose us.

What is diminished value you ask? As everyone knows, damaged goods are worth less than undamaged. Even when the repairs are of top quality, once damaged you can never undo that. Therefore, being honest and disclosing that fact when selling the vehicle will result in that loss of market value. Depending on the extent of the damage and the quality and condition of the repairs that amount can increase or decrease. That is where inherent, repair related, and insurance related diminished value come in as factors.

If we are allowed to be compensated and repair your vehicle the way we feel it should be, based on our expertise, training and knowledge, accepting the liability in doing so, you should only suffer minimal loss in value. Should an outside source try to limit, restrict or dictate those necessary repairs, the amount of diminished value will increase. This is one very important reason why when needed, we may have to get you involved in the repair process.

Most will experience a hassle free experience. There are some insurance companies, representatives and hired adjusters who may try to substitute imitation parts, restrict payment and limit reimbursement amounts. Because you are the one who has the legal right or contract to pursue your rights, you may have to assist us in order for us to maintain the high quality standard we feel everyone deserves.
